When Polydrops introduced its P17A trailer, it wasn’t just another camper — it was a bold rethinking of what mobile living could be. In 2022, the P17A was honored with the prestigious iF Design Award, and for good reason: it combines futuristic design, sustainable technology, and practical comfort into one compact, towable “home on wheels.”

Sustainable & EV-Friendly Trailer

The P17A was designed from the ground up to be eco-conscious and EV-compatible. Its all-electric HVAC system, powered by onboard battery and solar panels, allows travelers to stay off-grid for days without sacrificing comfort. Plus, the trailer’s lightweight, aerodynamic profile — inspired by aerodynamics used in racing — makes it easy to tow even with electric vehicles, minimizing energy consumption and “range anxiety.”

Comfortable, Thoughtful Design

Inside, P17A offers a livable, well-insulated space — even in extreme weather. The use of advanced insulation and a sealed, efficient structure ensures that temperature control is reliable and energy use remains low.

It’s not just a sleeping pod: optional features like a built-in kitchen, lighting, power outlets, and even climate control make it a true “home away from home.”

Design Meets Innovation

What sets P17A apart is the blend of architectural thinking and engineering innovation. Polydrops’ designers applied principles of thermal efficiency and lightweight construction -reminiscent of passive-house ideas- to a moving trailer.

Real-world testing even showed that towing the P17A results in lower drag and better energy efficiency compared to traditional trailers, a rare achievement in the caravan world.

The 2022 iF Design Award recognized the P17A as a product that lets people extend their physical and mental boundaries through a sustainable outdoor living experience.

By winning this award, Polydrops validated the idea that campers don’t need to sacrifice comfort, sustainability, or style.
